Les premiers capsules hotels arrivent au Japon avec les années 80 et ses excès. Le salaryman victime du "je dois partir après le patron" ne pouvait plus attraper le dernier train pour rentrer chez lui et devait trouver une solution simple et économique pour dormir. Le capsule hotel est rapidement devenu l'endroit idéal pour désaouler avant de repartir au boulot ! On comprend vite que l'endroit reste discret ! Et pourtant, des businessmen à la recherche de nouveau concept réinvente le capsule hôtel à Kyoto…
